Crash gambling in numbers: 10 astonishing statistics

Crash gambling has been the talk of the town in the iGaming industry for the last few years. Since rising from Bitcointalk forums as a simple community Bitcoin game, this gambling phenomenon shows no signs of stopping.

It was called BustaBit!

The first crash game was introduced in 2014!

Behind the rising multipliers, the amazing wins, and the heartbreaking moments when the game goes bust out of the blue, a number of game providers and games have captured the attention of millions of players worldwide.

Today, I’m diving into our beloved genre of online and crypto gambling to reveal 10 astonishing facts and statistics about our beloved crash games. Let’s dive in!

Crash Gambling Has Never Been Bigger

As mentioned before, the term “Crash Gambling” originates from what was once a simple “money crash” community game developed by J. Springer on Bitcointalk forums.

Since then, the term Crash Gambling has been used to describe the genre of crash games, and it’s only right that I start off this article by providing an overview of the genre itself.

1. There are now 70+ crash games available!

As of 2023, according to EGaming Monitor, there were approximately 70+ crash games, which is not a lot considering there were nearly 28,000 casino games available.

The number of games is consistently growing, and we’re sure the 100-game milestone will be broken in no time.

2. Approx. 9000 people each month search for “Crash Gambling”

In January 2024, according to Google’s Keyword Planner SEO tool, the combined monthly global search volume for terms related to crash gambling was 9,000. The combined number of queries would be much greater if we could access data from other search engines as well.

When inspecting the Google Trends data for the search term “Crash Gambling”, it is safe to say that crash gambling has kept a steady interest on Google.

The biggest spikes in interest were recorded at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and 2021, and the other, smaller spikes mostly likely being driven by media attention or casino promotions at the time.

Despite not being at the height of popularity according to Google Trends, one thing is for sure: crash gambling in 2024 will be as widespread as it ever was.

3. Aviator by Spribe is the first crash game to announce a big partnership

In October 2023, Spribe, the game provider behind the popular Aviator crash game, made a big announcement of its partnership with UFC. This was the first instance of crash gambling touching ground in popular culture.

ufc spribe

The brands announced an official marketing partnership to spread crash gambling and the amazing Aviator game amongst the players of states in North America where Aviator is readily available.

According to the brands, crash games represent the first point of contact for numerous sports fans and bettors in online casino games. Aviator by Spribe is, without a doubt, a great game for people to kick-start their crash adventures.

Aviator is still king and righfully so

If there was ever a game that was unanimous with the genre of crash gambling, it is Aviator by Spribe. This red airplane featuring crash game is as popular as sliced bread and with frequent updates by the developers, it’s bound only to get bigger.

In a 2023 article by iGaming Business, Giorgi Tsutskiridze, the CCO of Spribe, the company behind the Aviator game, revealed numerous facts about their hit crash game.

4. Aviator is available at 2000 casino brands worldwide

In my experience, Aviator is the most widely available crash game out there. Based on this, I’m not surprised by the astounding amounts of brands already carrying this game. This game is also available in numerous heavily regulated markets.

5. Aviator is licensed in 20 regulated markets around the globe

Spreading its reach to the world’s most regulated markets, like the UK, Canada and Portugal, was a clear goal for Spribe in 2023. Their last resonating success was getting approval for launch in the regulated market of Portugal, which is set to offer crash games in 2024.

With this achievement on its back, Aviator now boasts a presence in the majority of Europe’s regulated markets.

Aviator is one of my all-time favourite crash games.

6. More than 10 million players play Aviator each month

Do we need to add more?

7. Approx. 165,000 bets are placed every minute in Aviator

To make things even more extreme, Giorgi Tsutskiridze from Spribe also shared that 10,000s of bets are placed simultaneously at times. If we convert minutes to days you realize that 237,6M bets are placed in Aviator every single day.

The statistics above were no surprise when I checked over the last 5 years’ data on Google Trends for the term “Aviator Game.”

The chart above clearly shows that the search interest for this game is currently at an all-time high, which explains what I have seen in the past year of this game.

8. The global search volume for “Aviator by Spribe” related terms is shy of 200,000

This is an incredible result for a single game of the crash gambling genre. The global volume of searches for the “Aviator Game” search term alone is currently at 117,000 per month. Again, keep in mind that this is only the publicly available data from Google, not all search engines.

Google’s Keyword Planner also estimated a 900% year-on-year growth for the search term “aviator game”.

9. Aviator is the only crash game to break the top 10 slot game popularity list

According to EGaming Monitor, Aviator is also the only crash game ever to break into the top 10 slot game list. Spribe’s hit game entered the chart in May 2023 in the 8th position and has since held and improved their stance to the 3rd position in January 2024.

Crash gambling worldwide

10. Crash games are available in the majority of the world

Based on our analysis, we have found that:

  • You can play crash games completely legally in 61 countries worldwide.
  • You can access crash games and online casinos via a grey legal area in 74 countries.
  • You absolutely cannot access crash games as they are prohibited by law in 38 countries.

That being said, it is important that before you play crash games, you check if that is both allowed in your country and that the casino you plan on making a deposit at is accepting players from your region.

Wrap up

I hope that you’ve found this article to be both insightful and, in some way, even inspiring.

Seeing how crash games made it out of Bitcointalk forums to capture millions of players worldwide is a true success story.

Gathering data for this article is not an easy task, and we’re currently in communication with more crash game providers and casinos to see if they would be willing to supply us with some more exclusive stats and facts.

I’ll keep you updated! Gamble responsibly!

There’s nothing better than a fully anonymous casino session, and Casinok has been popping up on the radar of privacy-focused gamblers – for good reason.
