Lightning Dice is a completely different animal from the crypto slider dice we usually cover.
This is a live game-show title from Evolution, the undisputed leader in live casino, and it layers the studio’s signature Lightning multiplier mechanic onto a classic three-dice bet.
Launched back in June 2019, it is hosted by a real dealer, streamed in HD, and offers boosted wins of up to 1,000x. There is no slider, no seed verification, and no autoplay here.

Gameplay experience and features
The format is refreshingly simple. A live host drops three standard dice down a transparent tower called the Lightning tower, and you bet on what their combined total will be. The totals range from 3 to 18, giving 16 possible outcomes.
The lightning hook
Before the dice drop, the game strikes at least one random total with lightning and assigns it a boosted multiplier. This is the whole hook. Standard payouts scale with probability, so the rare totals pay far more than the common ones.
Roughly speaking:
- A total of 3 or 18 is the rarest, at about 0.46 percent, and pays 150x before any lightning boost.
- A total of 10 or 11 is the most common, at around 12.5 percent, and pays 5x.
- Everything in between sits on a sliding scale of risk and reward.
When lightning strikes your number, and it lands, those payouts multiply dramatically, all the way up to the 1,000x maximum win on the extreme totals.
The live-play trade-off
The trade-off for all this live entertainment is the RTP. Lightning Dice runs between 96.03 and 96.21 percent on a single-number bet, which is well below the RNG originals.
For comparison:
- Dice by Stake Originals and Dice by Thrill Originals run 99 percent, with Dice by BC Originals at 98 percent.
- Dice by Spribe sits at 97 percent.
- Dice Twice by Turbo Games runs 97.5 percent.
So this is not a game you play for the mathematical edge.
Fairness works differently too.
Because it is a live-dealer game with physical dice, there is no provably fair seed system to verify. Instead, you rely on Evolution’s regulated live studio and the certified RNG that assigns the lightning multipliers.
Live production and desktop experience
This is where Evolution earns its reputation.
On desktop, the production quality is outstanding. The studio set is polished, the camera work is clean, and the transparent tower makes every roll easy to follow.
The betting grid sits below the stream with all 16 totals clearly laid out, and the recent lightning multipliers are shown so you can see how the game has been paying.
Chip selection and bet placement are smooth and responsive during the betting window.
It feels less like a solo instant game and more like a broadcast, which is exactly the point.

Statistics and game information
Lightning Dice does not have the public Big Win and Lucky Win leaderboards of the crypto originals, but as a live game it leans into on-screen statistics instead.
You get a running history of recent totals, a display of the latest lightning strikes and their multipliers, and hot and cold style breakdowns of which numbers have been landing.
For players who like to track trends before placing a bet, there is plenty to look at.
It is a different flavor of information from Stake’s session profit-and-loss tab, but it fits the live format well.
Mobile experience
Evolution builds its live games for mobile, and Lightning Dice streams smoothly on both iOS and Android.
The video scales cleanly, the betting grid remains easy to tap, and the stream held stable during testing even on weaker connections.
You lose nothing moving from desktop to mobile. All 16 bets, the statistics, and the rebet controls are fully available, and the vertical layout keeps the tower and the grid both in view.
It is one of the better live-dealer mobile experiences out there.
Betting options
Because this is a live game, there is no manual-versus-auto split and no autoplay. Betting happens in real time during a timed window before each drop.
Within that window you can:
- Bet on any single total from 3 to 18
- Spread bets across several totals at once to cover more outcomes
- Use rebet and double controls to quickly repeat or scale your previous stake
Stakes run from $0.10 up to $2,000 per round, which comfortably covers both casual players and higher rollers.
